Do you think that some of your students have a “fixed” mindset about Maths? Have you ever heard “I can’t do maths?” or “Maths is too hard!” Have we sometimes thought of intelligence as a “fixed” commodity, especially in relation to our own subject? Using Carol Dweck’s work as a springboard, let’s investigate how Cooperative Learning strategies in our Maths classrooms can promote and support “growth” mindsets in our students.
